Urbana (Student Missions Conference)

Jesus, the one who has risen and sits on the throne has walked beside me during the last years of my life. It was six years ago that I decided, to serve among the students as a staff in Geu/Ifes Guatemala.

The One who called me has continued to affirm His calling in every new season. This year is a season of transitions and decisions for the future. So, with some fears and questions I arrived to Urbana.

From the very first night that I got to I sing surrounded by so many students and heard from the message shared on stage about the conviction that we were not in Urbana´s mission, but we were we there because our God is a missionary God. I realized in a deeper sense that the fact that I was there, a tiny missionary among students from a diverse community, was for a holy purpose.

The morning Bible Study were clear and lead me to see Jesus in His throne and His faithful testimony. This challenged me in a great way, and it wasn’t t only in my calling of service among students in Guatemala, but in the calling for my whole life.

Urbana allowed me to identify in me which are the empires or even the idols that I have let grow and which ones I have abandoned. At the end of Urbana I could sense that a renewal of the calling though the Bible Study and the worship time singing Somandela, He had reframed His calling for my life.
